WP7: Wastewater surveillance technical procedures, sampling schemes and analysis methods for priority targets
WP7 will focus on the technical laboratory procedures related to and used in wastewater surveillance, including for instance, sampling/transport/biobanking, purification and analytical methods for priority targets as well as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) techniques.
Interlaboratory ring-trials and on-site training events will be organized for interested Member States, especially those with less or no experience, to teach them how to work with the defined best practice protocols.
Objectives
- Assess and evaluate the current technical procedures regarding sampling, transportation and biobanking procedures.
- Assess and evaluate the current technical laboratory procedures of the detection (quantification) of priority targets.
- Assess and evaluate the current technical procedures regarding advanced sequencing techniques and sequence data analysis.
- Generate and disseminate best practices for each of the above objectives to the Member States.
- Organize inter-laboratory ring trials as well as on-site training events.
