WP6: Usage of wastewater surveillance data for public health

WP6 focuses on the non-laboratory components of wastewater surveillance, in particular epidemiology and surveillance.

WP6 aims to support and consolidate the application of wastewater surveillance in Europe and where it is not yet well established, such as in low- and middle-income countries. This will be done by consolidating and developing analytical tools according to the priorities for the selected targets defined in WP5.

Objectives

  • Guidance for where to take samples, including of entry ports into the EU (such as airports and planes).
  • State of the art recommendations for analysis of data depending on purpose and target.
  • Functional and usable analysis components for Member States’s to use, containing real data and sample codes.
  • Indicators for and descriptions on how to integrate wastewater surveillance into other types of surveillance systems.
