EU-WISH aims to support activities to strengthen and improve national capacities in wastewater surveillance for public health by enhancing knowledge exchange and sharing best practices.

62  institutes from 26 European countries are participating in the project. This large consortium allows relevant complementary expertise and experience to be brought to define, harmonise and expand wastewater monitoring strategies. This will contribute to strengthening coordination and cooperation on health security and to establishing a sustainable governance framework for wastewater surveillance at EU level and beyond.

The project is divided into seven work packages (WP), with specific tasks. Many of the activities are done in collaboration across WPs.
