In the context of T7.1 - Evaluation and harmonization of sampling, transportation and biobanking procedures, this training session provides a practical, SOP-based introduction to wastewater sampling and sample handling for Wastewater Surveillance (WWS), covering the three EU-WISH surveillance domains: : pathogen, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and chemical monitoring. The training will also explore how existing protocols could be harmonised across these areas.
The training will be delivered primarily as an online webinar and will be complemented by a practical, hands-on component held during the EU-WISH 2026 International Workshop & Consortium Meeting in Vienna. During this breakout session, participants will apply the concepts covered to real-world case studies.
Training dates:
- Webinar – Theoretical part on sampling and biobanking protocols – 25 September 2026
- Breakout sessions – Hands-on case study - EU-WISH 2026 International Workshop & Consortium Meeting | 6 - 8 October 2026
Further practical information will be shared directly with eligible participants through the respective project communication channels.
